About Us

In 1894 the world's headlines read that the International Olympic Committee had been formed. It was created to revive the ancient Greek olympic games in an effort to promote a more peaceful world.

Nationally, that same year, the headlines also read that the United States Golf Association was organized to govern the sport of golf in America. The first U.S. Open tournament was held the following year.

On a local level, in 1894 a new storefront on the banks of the Mississippi River was opened under the name of J. Cousineau's. This little grocery store in Minneapolis was much more than just a place to purchase milk and eggs, it was a gathering post where the local gentlemen would congregate to discuss daily life and exchange ideas.

Ninety years later and just blocks away, the name J. Cousineau's emerged once again. This was the local hot spot at Riverplace, located just across from Nicolett Island on the Mississippi River. A place that became popular where friends could gather to enjoy each other's comradery.

In October 1991, J. Cousineau's expanded to Maple Grove on the corner of Weaver Lake Road and Elm Creek Boulevard. Today it is a place to meet for a business luncheon, to celebrate special events or a place to just kick back and watch the game in a friendly atmosphere. J. Cousineau's still offers it's tropical specialty drinks or a cold draft beer served up in a unique handblown yard glass. Plus, J. Cousineau's boasts an American Pub Grub Menu that features their signature Teriyaki Wings.
